Ephesians 6:11-17
Did you know we are not fighting a physical battle? No. We are fighting a battle that is in the spiritual realm. There are things going on around us that only the Lord knows. He has kept me safe on more than one occasion.
One day I was putting my small children in their car seats in the back seat of my van. I got both little ones buckled up and turned to step out of the van. I was all the way INSIDE the vehicle when I felt a large hand shove me out of the van. I went flying through the air, over a seat and landed on my left hip in the driveway. Now my children saw all of this but didn't understand because they were very little, but they started crying. I gingerly got up and hobbled back to the van. I told the children I was alright. After reassuring them they stopped crying and we had to go to the appointment that had been set for that day. I believe that the enemy wanted to kill me. I still hurt in that hip. I now have arthritis there and all because the armor of God protected me from a very serious injury.
The enemy, the devil, Satan, the old Dragon, hates you. He is out to destroy you in anyway he can. The devil is not every where all the time, that is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. The devil has little demons working for him so he can get to you. This is the kind of battle we are fighting against.
If you are a child of God, you are the enemy of Stan. The WORD says, "For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against spiritual forces of evil in the heavens" (Ephesians 6:12 HCS)
The enemy will try to kill you if he can. Jesus Himself said that the enemy has come to kill, steal, and destroy. And he has. It started in heaven when he lead a revolt against God Almighty. It will end when he is chained and thrown into the pit at the end of time.
