STANDING. It is one of the first things we learn to do as a baby. As soon as we can, we are already trying to stand up. Babies crawl over to anything and pull themselves up. It takes balance and confidence to stand upright. When that happened our parents are happy and we just beamed. That happens when we are standing up for God. It takes the balance of prayer, reading the Word and praising God. He BEAMS when we stand for Him.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (italics mine). Ephesians 6:13
Standing is hard sometimes because it is something we are not programmed by God to naturally do. He put within us a "fight or flight" urge. If we stand we are staying for the fight. God is not looking at us and asking us to fight a battle that He will not be in. If we are fighting for God we know He has our backs. The armor is something that we put on and it is ALL in the FRONT of us. Only the belt of Truth, and the Helmet of Salvation goes all the way around our bodies.
If we can do no more fighting because we are just tired, or ill, or worn out from all the tricks the enemy is throwing at us, if we just STAND we won't be over come. Jesus said that we are OVER COMERS. That means we are on the winning side. Stand still and see the hand of God. That is what was said to Moses. Stand still. Even though the battle is raging all around you, stand still. Stand firm. Like that tree that is planted by the waters that King David sang about, stand firm. God will protect you in all of this.
I am a doer. I don't like to be still and wait a lot of the time. I like action. So for me, when God tells me to wait and be still.....it is hard....I know that there is something wonderful God has planned for me. He will always get me out of the hard spots. He will always be there for me in my time of need no matter what it is.
Next time we will examine the Belt of Truth.
