Home stretch in first year of homeschool

Good morning!

It has been a few weeks since I posted. I have not been as diligent as I should in posting.

Homeschool---- well, here we are in the home stretch for the school year of 2015-2016. We have decided to school throughout the summer. The things like Physical Education, Health, and a new course called "Homesteading". (I'm pretty proud of this one. I'll post about it in its own post)

We also have decided to skip 8th grade because, all 8th grade really is, is doing the same work that high school does. Interesting fact....There really is no "grade level" of course work in high school EXCEPT Math. Huh....NICE!!!

Summer is fast approaching. Time to spend out of doors, working in the yard, camping, fishing, swimming. Lazy summer days...school in the morning, maybe the afternoon, maybe the evening, or MAYBE even at night. :) THAT is the beauty of schooling your child at home. Anytime is a good time to school your child.

I wish I had attempted to homeschool my kids from kindergarten. Actually I did homeschool my youngest daughter for 4 weeks once due to a medical reason during her kindergarten year. BUT I was a foster parent at the time and really couldn't do it. ON the go all the time she would have never learned. :)

I cannot make promises that I will post more often, as I live my life on a farm and schooling my youngest child.
