No more Middle School children now. Officially both of my youngest children are in High School. A new era awaits us. One is in public school and the other is home schooled. They are both awesome people.
It's funny how that you can have different children, children who learn much different, children who are both very smart but have different ways of learning.
When you have a child who, it seems, that everything is easy, it just LOOKS that way. She works very hard for her grades. 3.41GPA = 89% = B+. I'm very proud of my daughter. She is now a Sophomore. She is wanting to get all the core, required classes done early in her High School career. Smart move, that way she can focus on her Medical training.
Then you have a child who has a hard time doing the writing assignments. All through public school his hand writing was hard to read. He can tell you verbatim what has been covered in class but to write it down was difficult. He had a IEP that was not utilized fully for him. Dysgraphia is the difficulty.
Dysgraphia is a neurological disorder characterized by writing disabilities. Specifically, the disorder causes a person's writing to be distorted or incorrect. (Source: excerpt from NINDS Dysgraphia Information Page: NINDS)
I'm very glad I decided to homeschool my son. He is much more relaxed about learning. Homeschooling has worked for him on his self esteem also.
So now, I have 2 high school kids. Before you know it, in the next 4 years, I will not have any children in school...well...high school anyway. Daughter is going to become a Registered Nurse.
I am a Blood bought, Holy Ghost filled, on fire child of the King, who He has called into the ministry to be a preacher.

Waiting on a Baby
Waiting on a baby is hard. I remember when I was expecting my first child. It seemed like everyone I knew was having their babies before me, and I was due before they were.
My third child, Patrick and his wife Shaylea are expecting the birth of their first child any day now. I know how she feels. Full, tired, full, uncomfortable, full....you get the picture.
This is my 10th grandchild. This child is just as exciting to wait on as the 1st grandchild. It doesn't matter how many grandchildren you have, each new one is exciting and we, grandparents, want to be involved as much as possible without getting in the way.
Here's to all the mothers who had to wait, and wait, and wait.....We all know your pain, your exhaustion, and your anticipation.

Home stretch in first year of homeschool
Good morning!
It has been a few weeks since I posted. I have not been as diligent as I should in posting.
Homeschool---- well, here we are in the home stretch for the school year of 2015-2016. We have decided to school throughout the summer. The things like Physical Education, Health, and a new course called "Homesteading". (I'm pretty proud of this one. I'll post about it in its own post)
We also have decided to skip 8th grade because, all 8th grade really is, is doing the same work that high school does. Interesting fact....There really is no "grade level" of course work in high school EXCEPT Math. Huh....NICE!!!
Summer is fast approaching. Time to spend out of doors, working in the yard, camping, fishing, swimming. Lazy summer days...school in the morning, maybe the afternoon, maybe the evening, or MAYBE even at night. :) THAT is the beauty of schooling your child at home. Anytime is a good time to school your child.
I wish I had attempted to homeschool my kids from kindergarten. Actually I did homeschool my youngest daughter for 4 weeks once due to a medical reason during her kindergarten year. BUT I was a foster parent at the time and really couldn't do it. ON the go all the time she would have never learned. :)
I cannot make promises that I will post more often, as I live my life on a farm and schooling my youngest child.
